Update on My Life.

I have not kept up with this thing have I? Well I probably still won't be super active, but I will try to update more frequently.

Life has been especially frustrating lately. I am currently in the process of getting my tooth implants FINISHED. I already underwent the surgical, more invasive part of everything, but the final part of it has been going on forever. Nothing seems to be going right. The abutments (they are screw like objects that are pushed into the actual implant in my gum. They are what is going to be holding the crown, or fake teeth, in place) have to be redone. They were done with acrylic material which is too bulky for my mouth. So we have to get them redone in titanium. This is all what I understand from what my dentists have said and told my mom. It's a basic idea, but it's costly and really annoying.

Whenever they try in the abutments I tear up from the pain. Imagine things being shoved into your jaw and screwed REALLY tightly until you're about to die. I've had to handle that like three times now, each time...multiple times...on two teeth. And NOW there are temporary crowns in and one is extremely loose so it is wiggling around...annoyingly. I also have inflammation on my gum from the pressure of the abutments.Yeah. So it's safe to say I am about ready to just call this whole thing off and wear my retainers for the rest of my life. Haha. But of course I've gone through so much already, I have to finish it. I will be happy when it is all over.

School is almost over. I only have two more weeks of classes and then finals week. I will be moving out of the dorms on the 10th I believe. However I am taking a summer class from May to June. Commuting everyday won't be too fun, but I have to get that ugly math class out of my way so I can take things I enjoy. And housing is frustrating right now. The lofts are all taken. So I am planning on signing up for a sophomore program with my roommate so that we can get a room there which is reserved for that program.

Also I am planning on studying the Bible during the summer. Just sit outside by myself with the Word and read and try to understand Him more. That way I won't be so ignorant and blindly following a faith. I want to know what I am following and I want to know who I believe saved me from sin. I've always just relied on other people. I need to start relying on MYSELF. Many people, I find, are unreliable and aren't really as wanting and thankful as they put off to be. I want to be like my closest friends, know what I follow and be able to defend my faith and maybe show others just how amazing it is...and how TRUE it is.

As far as art goes, I am focusing on finishing up the semester, which means finishing my final art projects that are coming around the corner and much more. Hopefully this summer I will have more time to work on stuff for myself. But I will give you some eye candy to satisfy yourselves with.

A self portrait, based on a photo I took a while ago that has always been my favorite, because of the bright colors and contrasts. Not exactly photo identical, but it does have its similarities.

And finally a work in progress of my character, Yanmei, who is especially curvy. I love drawing her for that reason. I've always loved drawing bigger curved women. Thin woman are just not very interesting to me...

Updates

I am so sorry. I have not posted anything up here in forever. Man. Life has been wonderful though. I changed my major to Art Education, and I hope I will stay there. But we will see! Next semester I get to take studio classes. Anyways, the above picture is the finished birthday present I made for Lauren. Her 17th birthday. Wow. The years go by.

Here are some more sketches and wips I am in the process of making. I am planning on doing Halloween pictures with all my characters. But we'll see how that turns out. Haha.

Here is the beginning of my Halloween images. This picture isn't entirely finished, but it is...for the MOST part. Haha. This is Yanmei (a character of mine) as a psycho I guess. with a straight-jacket and stuff. She is not usually like this. She is a normal person, I promise. Haha. More Halloween stuff to come.

Birthday Present and Better Weather

The weather has gotten SO MUCH BETTER. The sky has had big puffy white clouds and I had to wear sunglasses because...THE SUN WAS OUT. Yes. So beautiful. It makes the week a lot better.

I don't have much to update you guys on. But my friend Lauren's birthday is coming up in a week or so, and I am working on a gift for her. :] I can't show you all the whole picture, since she might come across this blog, and it would ruin the gift. But I can give you previews of it. I am having a hard time on a foot. That's it. A foot. So hopefully I can fix that and finish this soon! It's mostly just a speed painting, since I can never work more than two days on a picture or I get bored of it. But anyways, here are two previews.

Sketches and Rain

It's been raining FOREVER here! When will it stop? I can't go to the living room tonight because I am afraid I will get caught driving in a flood or something. ;[ I have to walk to class everyday in the rain. Ugh. I love rain...just not walking in it. I really enjoy watching it though. Man. At least the classes are close by so I am not in too long!

I made banana bread today and it's delicious. :] I wish all of you could eat it with me!

I haven't gotten around to doing much except sketching lately. So here are some sketches from the past two weeks. Not a lot for two weeks, but I have homework and what-not to do as well! The scans aren't the best quality, so I apologize before hand.

 

This is a page of just practicing wings. I am horrible and drawing wings so I looked up photos of birds and tried to draw them. Haha.

Did this before the one above it, trying to figure out how she would look like more demonic...not so scary here.

Definitely more demon like here... I was trying to get a more frightening aspect to it, but I can't do monsters well...obviously. I really enjoyed drawing her horsey legs. Hahaha.

Reading like a maniac

 

A quickie of Caine and Lilith. I was actually going to do more to this but I got distracted and I realized I had to read like a WHOLE book in two days, so I had to get to work on that instead. But anyways, these two are brother and sister. Haha. And demons. Just a brief background. And that blue stuff is ice or frost on her. I can't draw ice/frost well...so I'm sorry. Haha.

In other news...there is no news. I have a psych test on Thursday that I need to be studying for, which is why I am trying to read this whole book in less than two days. UGH. College has too much reading. TOO MUCH. I can't stand it.

I really can't.

Living Room

This is just a quick doodle I did while procrastinating my reading of 'The Selfish Gene' which I haven't read yet...and will tomorrow. haha. So many things wrong with this, but since it's my blog, I figured I'd post it.

Anyways. I thought everyone should know I got a 96 on my first Art History exam. :] I was very happy once I saw that. Haha.

I also made more guacamole today since Binh and I went to kroger so I was able to get avocados to make it. Can't wait till tomorrow to be able to eat it for lunch. Mmmm.

Went to The Living Room tonight with everyone. It was amazing. The pastor talked about relationships and what-not. It was very enlightening. It made me think about what I want and everything. I've always had my eye on this person, and we'll see where it goes, which it probably won't go anywhere since we don't even go to the same school. But you never know. :] I just know I have to put my relationship with God and Jesus before any relationships with others.

I am really tired, so it wasn't a very interesting entry. But maybe tomorrow I will have more to say. Haha.

VMAs and SCAD

These are kind of old, from two weeks ago. But it's something! Hope you like it. Just some photos I took inside the library at Oglethorpe when Binh and I visited Tatiana and Tina. Not good enough to put up on my photography page on deviantart. But I like them enough to share.

Okay, I know I should be sleeping right about now but I can't help it. The VMAs this year was just...weird. It wasn't that great. It was WEIRD. So many awkward moments. And could Lady Gaga be even freakier? The blood? Seriously...as my dorm mate Amira said, there is a fine line between creative genius and just being WEIRD. And Kanye West's stunt towards Taylor Swift confirmed all my disgust towards him. He needs a life man. Seriously. Taylor was so innocent and didn't deserve him being such a big jerk towards her.

In OTHER news. I am seriously considering transferring to SCAD. I feel like my heart is being called towards persuing a career in the arts. SCAD has a good illustration program that would be right up my ally. But it's also a private school, meaning I'd have to dole out the big bucks to go there, even with my parent's help for most of it. I'd feel horrible making them pay for such an expensive tuition!

If anyone has any advice as to what I should do, transfer, or just major in Fine Art at GSU, let me know. I need some input. I am horrible at decision making.

I'm going to the Living Room tomorrow night with everyone, especially so I can talk to Tina. Miss her so much already. Hopefully we'll get a good sermon and teaching about God's love. :]
